D402A : Biochemical assays
The D402A substitution in human POLD1 and the analogous substitutions in Saccharomyces cerevisiae Pol3 (D407A) and mouse Pold1 (D400A) eliminate the exonuclease activity. Data with human POLD1-D402A also indicates an increased rate of DNA synthesis errors in vitro.
